Let us give Peace a Chance to Live and prove itself
Bishop Samuel Azariah, from the Church of Pakistan, and church leaders from Germany, South Korea, Japan, Norway, the US and the Netherlands – all countries possessing nuclear weapons or living under the United States nuclear umbrella, have travelled to Japan for a five-day “Pilgrimage of Justice and Peace”, 5 to 9 August 2015. “It was a spiritual and emotional experience”, says Bishop Azariah, reflecting on the pilgrimage from Nagasaki. “It was also an experience which made me reflect that when power is misconceived and when power is abused and the concept of peace is misconceived, we can land up into a problem like that of Nagasaki and Hiroshima”, he adds. And in conclusion he says: “We need to raise our voice against nuclear warheads … Let us give peace a chance to live and prove itself.”
